However, as a sitting US Senator, the stain of an indictment, the stench of the trial, and the ongoing distractions of a trial are too much for the people to bear in their representative. Senate work is the people’s business, and any Senator distracted by an indictment, trial, and media frenzy is not in a position to represent the people. The fact that Senator Menendez is choosing to put his ego over the people’s needs is another reason why we are calling for him to resign immediately.
