"description": "Alameda County will get $9 million annually in new, discretionary public transit investments if a regional transit ballot measure passes in November. The vast majority of funds generated in Alameda County would go directly towards preventing drastic cuts to BART and AC Transit. The Alameda County Transportation Commission (ACTC) has a pretty good proposal for this $9M/year. For the first 3 years, ACTC would prioritize funding transit operations to ensure no service cuts. After 3 years, the funding would go into rider-focused improvements like making service faster, more frequent, accessible, and affordable. Please use this tool to send letters to ACTC Board Members supporting the staff proposal that prioritizes investing in funding operations and rider-focused improvements -- not for road paving.",
