"description": "Workers in the hospitality industry are among the hardest hit during the current COVID-19 public health crisis. Many of us have either had our hours severely cut or have been laid off all together. The uncertainty of whether and when we will be able to return to work is devastating to thousands of workers in Los Angeles. We ask that LA City Council takes a stand with hospitality workers: Support just cause provisions that prevent companies from trumping up reasons to fire workers during this difficult time Protect workers with fair layoff and recall by seniority rights so that workers are ensured a job when the crisis subsides Approve a strong eviction moratorium for Los Angeles so that workers don’t face the uncertainty of eviction and displacement during this public health crisis Los trabajadores de la industria hotelera se encuentran entre los más afectados durante la crisis de salud pública de COVID-19.
