"description": "Thousands of Amazon workers have spent years keeping one of the world's richest companies running. They have packed orders, loaded trucks, and worked through the pandemic, peak seasons, and grueling conditions to keep Amazon's business moving. Now, many of those same workers are facing uncertainty because of changes affecting Temporary Protected Status (TPS). Amazon should use its enormous resources and influence to help keep families together and protect the people who built its success. Instead, Amazon is leaving workers to navigate this crisis alone. Amazon Labor Union-IBT Local 1 has formally called on Amazon to provide legal support, extend deadlines, protect workers from retaliation and unnecessary immigration enforcement, and work with the union to ensure every affected worker has a fair opportunity to remain employed if legally eligible. Now we're asking our community to help turn up the pressure. Several people at Amazon have the power and influence to act: Andy Jassy, Amazon's CEO, is ultimately responsible for the company's policies and how workers are treated across its operations. Jeff Bezos, Amazon's founder and Executive Chair, remains one of the company's most influential decision-makers and has the power to shape its priorities and values. He was also among the prominent business leaders who attended Donald Trump's 2025 presidential inauguration, underscoring his continued influence in national political and corporate circles. Jessica Schumer, Amazon's New York lobbyist, is responsible for managing the company's relationships with New York elected officials and helping shape Amazon's public policy agenda in the state. Angela Pinsky, Amazon's Vice President of New York Community Affairs, oversees the company's engagement with New York communities and public institutions and should ensure Amazon lives up to its responsibility as one of the state's largest employers. Amazon's Board of Directors, which has ultimate oversight of the company's governance, strategy, and risk management. The Board has a responsibility to ensure Amazon's actions reflect its stated values and that the company addresses issues that pose significant legal, ethical, and reputational risks. Take one minute to send an email demanding that Amazon protect the workers who helped build its success. Tell Amazon's leadership to work with ALU-IBT Local 1 to provide legal support, meaningful workplace protections, and the time workers need to pursue every available pathway to remain employed. No worker who has spent years contributing to Amazon's success should be abandoned in a moment of uncertainty. When workers and community members stand together, we can hold even the world's largest corporations accountable.",
