"description": "Our new contract with the University will be discussed at the State Capitol during an Appropriations Committee meeting on Tuesday, February 23, at 2:00PM. Some members of the committee have stated that they may not support our new agreement. Legislators listen to their constituents, so it is important that you contact your legislators before this important meeting and ask that they support our contract. A short phone call or email is all that is needed, but this must be done before February 23. Be sure to identify yourself as a constituent of their district, that you are a UConn employee and a member of the University of Connecticut Professional Employees Association. Remind your legislator that our tentative agreement was bargained in good faith by UCPEA and the University and approved the University Board of Trustees. Our modest contract benefits UCPEA, the University and the state.",
