"description": "As a person of faith and an advocate with Faith Action Network, I am writing in strong support of SHB 1477 to improve the Working Families Tax Credit (WFTC). As the bill moves through your chamber, I urge you to champion SHB 1477 in caucus and on the floor. This bill would make much-needed technical and administrative fixes to the WFTC program, including allowing filers to apply for up to 3 years and expanding eligibility to “married filing separately” income tax filers, a critical inclusion for survivors of domestic violence. Thanks to the legislature's leadership in the past, Washington made history in 2021 when the legislature originally passed and funded the WFTC. Starting with its implementation earlier this year, the WFTC will make a significant positive impact for low-income working families, helping to ensure that they can put food on the table and pay for housing and other basic needs. Now you have an opportunity to improve access to the WFTC, to help more families in our state thrive. Please vote to pass this bill. Thank you for your attention and your public service.",
