Higher oil prices also raise the cost of food, shipping, flights, utilities, and everyday goods. Congress must pass the Big Oil Windfall Profits Tax Act. The bill would tax excess oil profits driven by crisis-price spikes and return that money to American households through rebates. During the 2022 oil price shock, a similar approach could have returned roughly $1,715 per household. With war-driven prices rising again, families deserve at least that much back, likely more. Big Oil keeps choosing short-term profit while families pay higher prices and communities live with the damage. Congress must tax Big Oil’s windfall profits and send the money back to the people paying the price. Tell Congress to pass the Big Oil Windfall Profits Tax Act, tax Big Oil’s war profits, and give Americans a rebate.",
