"description": "Pregnancy loss, trauma and complex physical issues affect thousands of women. In some of the most difficult moments in their life, having the right support to guide them through that, is crucial. A specialist Gynaecology Counselling Service in Oxford , delivers this vital mental health support to women. There is no equivalent service anywhere else in the county for women experiencing these complex issues. The service is run by just 4 women working part-time, and two unpaid student counsellors who deliver the entire provision, creating additional clinical value for the NHS. They are an exceptionally cost-effective service delivering high-value specialist care. The Trust is proposing redundancy or redeployment for all 4 employed staff, yet no clear rationale for the cuts has been provided, nor any explanation of how patient need will be met if the service disappears. The consequences would be huge. Women facing some of the most devastating experiences imaginable could be left without specialist support when they need it most. At the same time, the women who work there and have built and sustained this vital service are being asked to continue caring for vulnerable patients while facing uncertainty about their own futures. This is a women's health issue. It is a mental health issue. And it is about protecting a skilled, compassionate workforce that provides an irreplaceable service to women across Oxfordshire and beyond. Will you fight with them to keep this service going - send an email to the Trust now.",
