	"description": "Greater Manchester’s still reeling from devastating wildfires amid a summer that has broken yet more heat records. The reality of the climate crisis has never felt more bitingly close in our city region. Our previous mayor, Andy Burnham, set an ambitious goal for Greater Manchester to become carbon neutral by 2038. The question is – will Bev Craig meet this goal? We want to ensure our mayor builds on this legacy by ramping up action that will deliver tangible benefits for people’s everyday lives. These include proven wins like: * Cheaper bills and homes resilient to extreme temperatures by upgrading more of the area’s poorly-insulated housing stock. * Healthier neighbourhoods resulting from measure to clean up our air. * Better access to green space which does as much good for our wellbeing as it does for wildlife. Please take our action to ask Bev Craig to support the Climate Action Plan for Greater Manchester (1) and meet with Manchester Friends of the Earth to talk about a better future for us all.
