	"description": "In response to the escalating public health and economic crisis, WeCount! has drafted an ordinance to be introduced at the Miami-Dade County Commission. The Miami-Dade Heat Standard for Outdoor Workers aims to protect outdoor workers by employing heat illness prevention measures, educating employees and supervisors, and enforcing established heat hazard protections. The proposed countywide Heat Standard will reduce injuries and deaths, limit hospitalizations, and save lives. Climate scientists and public health experts agree: enforceable heat hazard protections are needed to protect workers from extreme heat. If passed, the Miami-Dade Heat Standard for Outdoor Workers will be the first countywide heat standard in the country. These protections will apply to outdoor workers who continuously work in the heat, individuals who labor outside for at least 15 minutes for every working hour.",
