"description": "Though we've been saying it for years, the wasted money, time, and shame the Block family has brought upon itself with its absurd mismanagement of what they might call "the labor situation" and what we would call our working lives at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is getting harder and harder to hide from. Various family and board members of the PG's parent company, Block Communications Inc., have shown us they don't mind being seen as cold or cruel or inconsiderate to the communities they claim to serve or represent. But what we know about wealthy people is they don't like to look stupid. Between the mounting legal losses and their internal skepticism about their own lawyers now getting aired publicly, they do look quite silly. And it's important that you remind them of that. Of course, the smartest thing they could do is save face and settle this strike on our extremely reasonable terms. We'd be happy to tell them as much at their board meeting coming up. Will you write them today and try to get us an invite? They need to know how plainly we all see their foolishness.",
