"description": "On May 8th, 2026, Towson University allowed Adi Karni, an israeli occupation forces (IOF) soldier, who participated in the illegal invasion and genocide in Gaza, on Towson's campus to set up a table on campus as part of a national tour, and when safety and policy violations emerged, TU administration looked the other way The IOF reservist brought an unauthorized armed security guard onto campus in direct violation of Towson University's own time, place, and manner policies. When campus police discovered the illegal firearm, rather than removing the IOF representative and his unauthorized personnel, Karni and his security were escorted by TUPD to the Towsontown Garage while barricades were set up around them. Let that sink in: a foreign soldier advertising his participation in a military campaign that has killed over 70,000 Palestinians was given police protection and a second chance. Meanwhile, Towson students who have organized peaceful demonstrations have faced discipline, surveillance, and removal under these same policies. This is not a free speech issue, it is a university accountability issue. Towson's own policies exist to ensure campus safety and equal treatment. Those policies were violated on May 8th, and administrators chose to protect the visiting war criminal rather than enforce their own rules. We are calling on Towson University to: BAN WAR CRIMINALS: Towson must immediately adopt a policy prohibiting Student Organizations and Academic Departments from inviting individuals who are credibly accused of, or under investigation for, war crimes, genocide, or human rights violations by international courts or recognized human rights bodies. Conduct a full investigation into the policy violations that occurred on May 8, 2026, including the presence of an unauthorized armed guard. Revise the repressive time, place, and manner policies consistently, for students and organizations organizing for Palestine. The IOF is currently under investigation by the International Court of Justice for genocide in Gaza. Towson University must answer: why are soldiers representing that military given more campus protection than your own students",
