	"description": "On May 17, 2019, the General Assembly&#x27;s Appropriations Committee approved SR 28/HR 29, Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between Local 749 of AFSCME Council 4 and the State of CT Judicial Branch. The MoA enables more than 125 newly organized Judicial Branch employees to be covered under the existing collective bargaining agreement between the Branch and Local 749. It means these new AFSCME members will be guaranteed the rights and freedoms that come with union membership. (Click here to see how Appropriations Committee members voted on the contract.) The House and Senate chambers are expected to vote on the Local 749 MoA as early as May 22, 2019, (which is also Council 4 Lobby Day).
