The Florida shooting was the 30th mass shooting, and the 18th to take place in a school, so far in 2018 – a year that is only seven weeks old. That means there’s a school shooting in this this country every 2.5 days. With today’s news, this year’s death toll from school shootings now stands at 21. Thoughts and prayers won’t bring them back, or save the next ones to die. Republicans brought this day around with their opposition to common-sense gun control legislation. Many of them have accepted hefty donations from the gun industry. We demand that they make their priorities clear: Do you stand with the innocent lives lost? Or do you side with your bank accounts? We all need to do our part in preventing the next shooting. The lives of all of America&#x27;s children are on the line. Join us and send a letter to Congress demanding that they ban assault weapons. Let them know how you feel about the Republicans that put the NRA and pro-gun donors over children.",
