Our union is urging members to contact the Joint COVID-19 Response Legislative Workgroup. These 24 legislators have been appointed by the House Speaker and the Senate President to monitor the effects of COVID-19 and advise the Governor and fellow Legislators on necessary actions. We are urging the COVID-19 Legislative Workgroup take every action possible to protect and support frontline staff performing critical functions in state offices and institutions. Send a letter to the Workgroup and urge them to: Get the story from the frontlines – schedule time to meet and hear from AFSCME members Call on the Governor to have the Agency Heads collaborate with AFSCME and work together to fight COVID-19: Issue a clear plan on how to safely work during the pandemic in case an outbreak occurs among staff or wards of the state. Rapidly identify locations without sufficient PPE and sanitizing equipment and arrange sufficient supplies   Reinstate emergency premium pay for front line workers continuing to report to work during the crisis",
