"description": "In the June 27 presidential debate on CNN, when asked by moderator Jake Tapper to clarify what he meant by “feeling [he] has every right to go after [his] political opponents,” Trump replied “my retribution is going to be a success.” Trump and MAGA Republicans have made racist, misogynistic, and xenophobic attacks on working people everywhere. They have come after voting rights, abortion rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and the rights of immigrants and asylum seekers. They have systematically pursued administrative and court appointments and rulings that erode our democratic institutions and grant more power to the wealthy. In light of the rising cost of living, record levels of inequality, an expected 1.2 billion people turned into climate refugees globally over the next decade, and billions of dollars spent on overseas wars, the American people cannot afford another term of Trump’s fascist rhetoric and policies. Young people, Arab Americans, and millions of other working-class voters have already lost faith in President Biden, and last night’s debate decimated confidence in his ability to lead. Discontent within the party and open doubt about President Biden’s capacities will saturate the media narrative and reach even those voters that did not watch last night’s debate. While multiple polls from last month pointed to a tight race, this moment is a turning point that the right will seize. In 2020, younger and multiracial voters mobilized to halt Trumpian fascism, resulting in the highest voter turnout in decades. Those same people have become disillusioned with Biden’s failure to meet their needs and by the massive death toll and war crimes in Gaza—the deadliest conflict in the 21st century. We need to unify around a candidate that can beat the rise of the right — a candidate that stands with working people and will take a morally clear anti-war stance.",
