	"description": "New Mexico&#x27;s Environment Department (NMED) in collaboration with our coalition is currently leading an effort to protect 245 miles of streams that mitigate climate change, safeguard clean drinking water, preserve fish and wildlife habitat, and strengthen New Mexico&#x27;s outdoor recreation economy. With our support, NMED is proposing 45 streams be nominated as Outstanding National Resource Waters across the Rio Grande, Cimmarron, Chama, and Jemez watersheds which provide critical watershed function for our Special Trout Waters, Wild &amp;amp; Scenic Rivers, Wilderness Areas, National Monuments, and State Parks. Please add your name to the petition below to support protections for these vital waters. In addition, we are asking stakeholders to save the WQCC&#x27;s December 10th , 2024 meeting at 9am MST on their calendars.
