Even whilst energy companies make larger and larger profits for their shareholders. This means that the small local businesses that supported their communities through the worst days of the pandemic are now faced with closure. Covid took away the buffers or resilience funds that small and medium businesses had. We are all acutely aware of the pressures on households as a result of rising costs, small businesses are vital for local economies and communities that cannot afford job losses. We urgently require an energy cap for commercial energy prices in line with the consumer energy cap.",
