Last November, we won a raise for Uber and Lyft drivers in New York, but Uber decided to block the increase based on a legal technicality. The judge who made the decision even said that drivers “deserved the boost”! Thousands of NYC drivers protested Uber’s lawsuit, and we won a partial raise. This is a great first step, but we want the full increase that we deserve. We also want to ensure that our raise includes a utilization rate that will avoid lockouts so we can get our wage increase AND keep drivers on the road! Rideshare drivers sometimes work 80 hours a week for app companies, and the full raise would allow us to do our jobs without constantly worrying about paying the bills. That’s why we’re calling on Uber and Lyft to pay us our FULL raise now and not leave drivers hanging because of a technical delay! Please stand with the tens of thousands of New York City rideshare drivers who work incredibly hard and deserve better pay.
