"description": "As Jews, we are painfully aware of the relationship between hateful speech and hateful consequences. Donald Trump has demonstrated a deeply disturbing pattern of hate speech, alongside explicit calls to violence over the past several months that cannot be denied or ignored. So the question must be asked: If Trump were denouncing Jews in the same terms as he has used over and over in denouncing Muslims, Latinos, and #BlackLivesMatter activists, is there even the slightest possibility that he would have been invited to the annual AIPAC Policy Conference? And even if we could convince ourselves that the fires of hate he is deliberately fanning will not come back to burn us as Jews—Nazi-style salutes and al—is open bigotry and racism okay with us as long as it is not directed at us? As Jews and as Americans, we condemn hate speech in all its forms. We are horrified by AIPAC’s invitation to Donald Trump to speak at their March conference and we call on them to withdraw it immediately. To join your voice with ours, sign our petition and circulate this message as widely as you can.",
