"description": "On November 8, 2022, North Carolina will elect either Republican Ted Budd or Democrat Cheri Beasley to the US Senate, and 2-3% of voters can control the outcome. The American Union - a national union of voters willing to cast their ballots for either party - will endorse one major party candidate in this race and in all 470 Congressional races. We demand immediate passage of our legislative package, the Blueprint for a Better America, which will end poverty with universal basic income, end mass incarceration with major criminal justice reform, and end the endless wars by reducing militarism. It's an upgrade to our social contract for the 21st century. The deal for Congress is simple; put this on the president's desk BEFORE the election, and earn our votes. If Sen. Burr and Rep. Budd accept our terms, Ted Budd will get the American Union endorsement. If they refuse to act, and Cheri Beasley demonstrates her support, she has the opportunity to earn the endorsement instead. If you want to put policy over party and reject politics as usual, sign our petition to North Carolina's US Senate candidates.",
