	"description": "Dark Horse Workers United Vision Statement Dark Horse produces pop-culture media that deeply connects with and inspires our diverse audience and the comics industry at-large. As the third largest American comics company, Dark Horse focuses on an eclectic collection of titles which may not fit into traditional mainstream media. Our creative projects are produced by artists and writers who are unbound by strict licensing agreements; they often keep the legal rights over their projects, and find success and support in a highly competitive industry through Dark Horse. However, as the workers of Dark Horse, we are regularly undercompensated and disregarded, despite our essential role in the development of said projects. Unfortunately, this is all too common in the creative industry. We, the workers of Dark Horse Comics and Things From Another World, have come together to form one union and stand in solidarity. We fight for our right to vote as a democratic body and to improve our material conditions. The looming uncertainty from recent layoffs, wage/hiring freeze, return-to-office policies (despite their economic impact on employees), and emergence of artificial intelligence have fueled us to combine organizing efforts and collectively address our concerns. Our Foundational Principles: Democracy: Our voices should be heard and valued, with fair representation. Diversity: Our work environment and publication titles should foster an inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels respected. Equity: We must collectively address each other’s individual needs, and work to reduce systemic inequality. Solidarity: We are strongest together. We stand together. Transparency: We are committed to safety and approachability in our work environment through clear communication and fellowship. Our Goals: Improve job security, wages, and benefits by advocating and determining strategies for the improvement of the material needs of our workers. Create a transparent and equitable workplace culture where all teams feel comfortable communicating with each other, and vital information is shared company-wide. Acquire a seat at the table when critical decisions are made that will affect all stakeholders, including the workforce. We unionize out of care for our fellow workers and love of the comic book craft. This is an act of solidarity with all creative workers. We wish to be effective agents of change for a prosperous and secure future at Dark Horse.",
