"description": "We, the undersigned residents, parents and education staff of Waltham Forest, demand an urgent review of the National Funding Formula and London weighting to end the critical underfunding of our schools. Since 2010, Waltham Forest schools have suffered a real terms loss of nearly £50 million in funding. Despite facing the same inner-city challenges, high living costs and pressures on recruiting and keeping staff, our schools receive significantly less per pupil than neighbouring London boroughs. The crisis in our schools is now reaching a breaking point. These cuts are directly impacting the quality of education and resources for our students, provision for SEND and our most vulnerable students and leading to job losses for essential teachers and support staff. We call on the Department for Education to bridge the funding gap between Waltham Forest and our neighbouring London boroughs to reflect the true cost of living and working in the borough. Waltham Forest’s children deserve the same investment and life chances as children in any other borough. We urge you to intervene before the quality of our children’s education is permanently damaged. Save our schools. Fund Waltham Forest Fairly.",
