	"description": "As the coronavirus continues to alter every facet of our daily lives, it has become clear that our normal practices on election day are not going to hold up during the pandemic. While vote by mail is an effective strategy to limit the spread of COVID-19 during our elections, failing to safeguard in-person voting puts vulnerable communities at greater risk, including citizens of color, citizens who are housing insecure, and citizens with disabilities. That&#x27;s why I filed Amendment #14 to H.4768 to enable safe, accessible, and fair elections, both in person and by mail, during this health crisis. This includes: Adequate municipal planning to ensure safe in-person voting accounting for proper physical distancing, PPEs for poll workers, and proper sanitation; Equitable access to polls based on race, age, national origin, disability, income level, or geography and the closure of polling locations only as a last resort; Ensuring notification of any polling location change within 25 days of the election date; and Establishing curbside voting options for voters with physical and health limitations. Everyone has the right to vote safely and securely. These measures will help us protect Massachusetts voters in September, November, and beyond, and ensure that people will not have to choose between their health and their right to vote.",
