So we're calling on Labour to be confident, not to buckle to pressure from right-wing media, or give in to the damaging ideology of austerity - to do what the country needs to ensure a safe future for all of us. * Lord Stern and a team at the LSE recently calculated an increase in annual public investment by about 1% of GDP (about £26 billion) was needed to tackle climate change, biodiversity loss and environmental degradation, reversing decades of underinvestment and ensuring a healthy economy.
