These two things are more closely related than you&#x27;d think -- due to California&#x27;s housing shortage, we have been losing residents to Texas every year. Blue states have become less and less affordable, and we need to boost our supply of housing in order to fix that. Governor Newsom knows that, in the long term, the best way to save democracy is to build more homes in California and open our doors to new residents.
