Families should not lose healthcare because of paperwork, unstable work schedules, or rules that make coverage harder to keep. Recent decisions by lawmakers will make it harder for people to get and keep their Medicaid coverage by adding reporting requirements, creating more red tape, creating new costs for patients, and discouraging families from seeking care. The people most affected would be those already stretched thin: workers with unpredictable hours, caregivers, children, pregnant people, and communities that already face barriers to healthcare. We believe healthcare should work for patients. No one should lose care because they lost hours at work, missed paperwork, got sick, or could not navigate another administrative hurdle.
