"description": "The property is located in the Town Center Metro District of Green Valley Ranch, which exercised its statutory rights to issue fines and other charges against the property. The Town Center Metro District foreclosed on those unpaid fines, and WELCOME TO REALTY 401K LLC PRO purchased the property in the foreclosure sale. The LLC is controlled and owned by Chris Attard. After buying the property, Chris Attard allowed Monica and her family to occupy the property in exchange for the family to continue to pay their mortgage and other maintenance costs, which is $1,463 per month plus utilities. Chris Attard also borrowed $300,000 from the Michael Attard Trust against the property. Chris Attard refused Monica's offer to repurchase the property last year. The City and County of Denver subsequently filed a lawsuit to enforce its restrictive covenant, which is ongoing. On March 7th, Chris Attard served Monica a Notice to Vacate the home by March 14th. This isn’t just a housing policy issue; it’s a family issue. Monica’s story shows us what’s at stake when families are stripped of stability. Her home wasn’t just a property; it was where her kids felt safe and grew up knowing their neighbors by their first names, playing in their backyards, and attending school. The systems that failed Monica didn’t just threaten to take away her home and her children’s home. These systems are displacing this family and ripping them out of a community they love, respect, and trust. Children are the quiet victims of this abuse of power and greed. Monica’s kids are kind, community-minded, and full of promise, but seeing all the challenges her mom has faced to get their home has left them living in fear and disillusioned by what happened to their family. We cannot let unchecked greed rob children of their stability and future. We must protect children from the lifelong trauma of housing instability and show them that their lives matter more than profit margins. Monica’s children came home from school to find a letter taped to the door from Chris Attard, notifying them of his plans to evict their family Our communities are up against a kind of greed that sees the misfortune of others as an opportunity, not to help, but to profit. For people like Chris Attard, buying someone’s home isn’t about shelter or community, it’s about expanding their personal portfolio. This is a system that punishes vulnerability and rewards opportunism. The system that enabled this injustice and people like Chris Attard who exploit it view homes as mere transactions, not as the heart of a family’s life, where children grow up, and neighbors care for one another. This is about belonging and community, not just ownership. Monica has lived in Denver for 20 years. She built a life, a community, and a sense of home in Green Valley Ranch. That should matter more than a trash can left out for too long or a patch of grass that isn’t green enough. When a broken system prioritizes fines and foreclosure over families and communities, it becomes a tool for greed, tearing apart the very communities it’s meant to preserve and protect.",
