Many UNM faculty remain uninsured because coverage is unaffordable, while those with insurance continue to face declining benefits, rising prescription costs, and limited access to primary and specialist care. These barriers to healthcare negatively impact not only faculty wellbeing, but the health and stability of the entire university community. UNM must commit to covering a greater share of healthcare costs and invest in a system that prioritizes affordable coverage and meaningful access to care for the employees who make the university possible.",
