	"description": "Bonds fund 70% of TotalEnergies’ ongoing drilling operations. Citi, Bank of America, and JP Morgan Chase along with other US and foreign banking institutions have funded long term bonds that support the harmful drilling operations of Total both in Arlington and worldwide. In Tarrant County, Texas, where Arlington is located, there are now 400 gas wells and Total has applied for the first new drill zone in a decade. The new drill zone, called Maverick, will be behind the Mother’s Heart Learning Center and near three elementary schools including Johns, Adams, and Thornton Elementary Schools in East Arlington. Once established, Total plans to drill 10 new wells on the site, but once established the company will be allowed to drill more without public notification. The support Total receives from these three banks jeopardizes the health and human rights of those of us who live in Arlington, the region, and communities across the globe. By funding Total, these banks also contribute to the climate crisis and detract from investment in clean energy. Together, let’s demand these banks no longer fund TotalEnergies for the sake of our community and others around the globe.   Sign a letter to the 3 CEOs of Citi, JP Morgan Chase, and Bank of America. Demand that they STOP investing in Total and the funding of fossil fuels.   Please feel free to customize your letter with how you feel living in Arlington amongst Total’s ongoing fracking operations. If you live in Dallas/Ft. Worth (DFW), discuss how tired you are of the poor air quality that our region continues to face in part due to the contributing pollution from Total.
