"description": "As Arlington residents, we are calling on our city's Human Rights Commission and our City Council to pressure the Arlington county government on a Ceasefire Resolution, calling for a full ceasefire in Gaza and release of all hostages (including the thousands of Palestinian hostages in Israel). Each day that passes brings unprecedented destruction to Gaza, with the Israeli military killing tens of thousands of Palestinians including children, and endangering the lives of all hostages. Being right next to Washington D.C., Arlington holds a special position as a human rights leader in Virginia. Arlington is also home to many congressional and Biden administration staff, such as Antony Blinken. We want our city to hold true to the proclamation that we are a County for All, and to stand up for our shared values of justice, compliance with international law, and human rights.
