The CFCB protects consumers and vulnerable groups like servicemembers, veterans, students, and older Americans, by setting and enforcing rules that protect consumers from scams, predatory lenders, and discrimination. Only 12 years old, the CFCB has put back 17.5 billion in Americans’ pockets in the form of monetary compensation, principal reductions, canceled debts, and other consumer relief resulting from CFPB enforcement and supervision works. Unfortunately, bad financial actors are pushing for a rollback of protections in Congress and a case to be heard in the Supreme Court that will decimate protections for any financial transaction involving a home, auto, payday loans, credit cards, debit accounts, fintech products, and more.
