All over the country, communities are coming together to stand up to corporate utilities like TEP and demand an energy system that is affordable, democratic and addresses the climate crisis head on. As part of its climate action plan, the city of Tucson has to study “the formation of a public power utility ahead of Tucson Electric Power&#x27;s franchise agreement expiration (2025)”. It’s no surprise that TEP is against a public utility and will no doubt use their influence and deep pockets to try to prevent it. That’s why members of Tucson DSA are calling on Mayor Romero and other city decision makers to conduct a rigorous study that addresses the cost private ownership of our utility has had on our wallets and the climate.   Join us and sign the petition today!
