	"description": "The Medical Area Total Energy Plant (MATEP) is a polluting oil- and gas-burning power plant located in the Longwood Medical Area in Boston, Massachusetts. It is surrounded by several densely populated neighborhoods, hospitals, universities, and schools, endangering the health of vulnerable patients and residents. Some turbines at MATEP only operate during times of peak demand (often the hottest and coldest days of the year). We know that we can replace those dirty, old turbines with clean, renewable energy and battery storage. This will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve our community’s health and wellbeing. But MATEP’s owners don’t want to let go of how they’ve been doing business, and they’ve locked the power plant into a contract until 2051. We need to show them that the community refuses to continue to breathe polluted air when a better option is possible. Let MATEP’s owners and operators know: we want to transition MATEP’s peak generation to clean energy!",
