	"description": "There have been murmurings that Elon Musk fixed the election for Donald Trump, not just with his money but by manipulating votes. Elon Musk’s sweeping into the Trump campaign and then being installed in the West Wing is unsettling and suspicious. Trump’s claims that he &quot;had the votes he needed&quot; before early voting began and “2024 was the last election anyone would need to vote in” suggest that he had underhanded weapons that would hand him a victory. Following Trump&#x27;s loss in 2020 Republican officials and activists in eight U.S. locales gained illegal access to balloting systems and made copies of hard drives to be evaluated for fraudulent activity. Access to the system also created an opening for Republican techies to make plans for compromising results in future elections. Then, before the 2024 election, Pro V&amp;V performed maintenance and updates to voting machines used in 40% of the counties in the United States with no inspections of the equipment following these updates. Pro V&amp;V claims that changes were minimal and didn&#x27;t warrant retesting of the equipment prior to voting. However, SMART Elections, an election integrity watchdog group, reports that changes included a full firmware revision, recalibrated ballot scanners and printers, and a new Electionware reporting interface. Such changes are significant enough to warrant independent testing of the equipment. Americans have deep concerns that the constitutional rights of our fellow citizens may have been violated. No recounts or audits were conducted in swing states despite very close races accounting for 60 electoral votes -- Michigan (Trump 49.7% -- Harris 48.3%), Wisconsin (Trump 49.7% -- Harris 48.9%), Pennsylvania (Trump 50.6% -- Harris 48.5%) and Georgia (Trump 50.7% -- Harris 48.5%). Winning these states would have put Kamala Harris in the White House. Concerns about the 2024 election may be nothing more than the stuff of tin hat conspiracy theories. Still, a review the 2024 election data for the states that determined the election outcome, and the voting equipment that was used in those states, is warranted. Challenging the legitimacy of an election outcome once an elected official is in office would be unprecedented, but so much of what&#x27;s happening today is unprecedented. It would require a lot of heavy lifting, but that&#x27;s to be expected when so much is at stake. When our democracy is at risk, Democratic officials should do their due diligence to ensure that our elections are sound. Examining the 2024 election results will prepare Democrats to counter any fraudulent activity in 2026 and beyond. Our party was taken unawares during the last election.
