Tell Gemtron to Stop Union-Busting!

	<thumbnail_url>https://can2-prod.s3.amazonaws.com/share_options/facebook_images/000/478/047/original/i_support.jpg</thumbnail_url>

Glass manufacturing workers at Gemtron in Vincennes, Indiana, make the glass that goes into refrigerators by Whirlpool, Sub-Zero and GE—huge brands used in restaurants and kitchens around the world. Unfortunately, these workers are on an unfair labor practices strike since management has been unilaterally attempting to eliminate their pensions. That’s why we’re calling on Luis Liu, the CEO of SSW Advanced Technologies, Gemtron’s parent company, to stop their union-busting tactics and their refusal to bargain in good faith in violation of federal labor law. Approximately 100 workers are out on strike for unfair labor practices by Gemtron. Rather than seek to reach a fair agreement, Gemtron has sought to dismantle contributions to their pension plan. These workers deserve to retire with dignity. Many of these workers have spent decades working toward a dignified retirement. Now SSW Advanced Technologies is seeking to buoy its own corporate profits and force hardworking Hoosiers to work indefinitely into the future, with no retirement in sight. Gemtron is using manipulative language and dancing around the issues at hand to attempt to scare workers into stopping their strike. These are illegal union-busting tactics. It’s clear that Gemtron won’t practice their own statements of corporate values. Join us in telling the CEO of SSW: Stop union-busting and bargain in good faith!
