Access to government data is a fundamental pillar of an effective democracy. And in a 21st century democracy, that means looking at new ways to enable transparency and accountability in government decisions, records and files. Join Common Cause Maryland, MDDC Press Association, ACLU of MD, League of Women Voters MD and the Marylanders for Open Government coalition for a Transparency Summit on Friday, January 13th, from 1-6pm, at the Governor’s Calvert House. Admission is free, with a reception taking place at the end of the event. The policy summit will feature panels and short presentation on a range of topics including: Participatory budget process Inclusive and accessible legislative process Police Accountability Remote Court Access Changes to the Maryland Public Information Act and more!
