ACT NOW: 'No Moore Cuts' to voting in North Carolina

	<thumbnail_url>https://actionnetwork.org//images/generic_facebook.jpg</thumbnail_url>

Now’s the time to make your voice heard and protect voting in 2024. North Carolina House Speaker Tim Moore is at it again. In addition to threatening to make it harder for North Carolina voters to cast a ballot under his own photo voter ID law — removing important provisions that help voters who are working, students, have disabilities, or are low-wealth— Moore has also set his sights on slashing the most popular way to vote in the state: early voting. On Valentine’s Day, the Cleveland County Republican showed how little he loves voting by signaling he would cut the 17-day early voting period for all North Carolinians, saying to reporters, “I think it's just too long.” Early voting is the most popular voting method in North Carolina and has become increasingly popular over time. 65% of North Carolina voters in 2020 used early voting. Moore’s comments appear to be too extreme for even Senator Phil Berger, the top Republican leader in the state Senate. Berger expressed concerns to reporters about imposing changes to North Carolina’s established voter ID laws amid an election. Ahead of the April 2024 legislative session, it’s time to flood legislative leaders’ email and voicemail inboxes to let Speaker Moore know that you want “NO Moore cuts” to our voting options in 2024. Start by sharing this message with legislative leadership right now. We’ve made it easy.
