Bad Bill Alert: Anti-Diversity in Local Government

	<thumbnail_url>https://can2-prod.s3.amazonaws.com/groups/default_facebook_images/000/066/644/original/GenericShare_(1).png?1752253387</thumbnail_url>

The Anti-Diversity in Local Government bill by Senator Clay Yarborough (SB 1134) and Representative Dean Black (HB 1001) is a state sledgehammer to stop cities and counties from any action that recognizes and responds to differences based on race, sex, ethnicity, gender identity, or sexual orientation, with limited exceptions. It would repeal existing programs, ban funding for programs, and threaten city and county officials with removal from office for anything vaguely labeled “diversity, equity, or inclusion.” It would effectively ban local governments from a range of actions like supporting Pride, offering cultural competency training, or recognizing Black History Month. Tell your representatives to oppose SB 1134 & HB 1001!
