As attacks against democracy continue across the country, it is clear that our work now is as important as it ever was. In 2021 we passed legislation to create more equitable ballot access for non-English speaking Coloradans, helped prevent a potentially disastrous Article V constitutional convention, fought off multiple bills that would have made voting harder, and passed sweeping legislation to make our already gold-standard election laws even better. We continue to monitor, advocate, and organize throughout the redistricting process. Our work is to make sure the independent commissions draw equitable maps that provide adequate representation to all communities in Colorado and that their works remains transparent while honoring the constitutional requirements for public input. To celebrate our 50 years of work strengthening democracy and to build momentum for our future we are hosting our annual Champions For Democracy celebration from 5:00pm to 7:30pm on Monday, September 13th 2021 at Attimo Winery in Denver. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and we are thrilled to be hosting the event in person! The event will bring together our statewide members to recognize community leaders who have advanced pro-democracy work over the last year.
