They promised DOGE would save U.S. taxpayers trillions. Instead, it left tens of thousands of dedicated public workers - including CWA members - jobless, gutted regulations, exposed the personal data of nearly every American, and resulted in the needless deaths due to USAID cuts. Recent reports have uncovered allegations that a former DOGE staffer stole sensitive government data, including Social Security numbers of more than 500 million living and dead Americans – with the intention of selling it to a private corporation.   DOGE could have also exposed sensitive worker data about OSHA complaints or unfair labor practice charges filed with the National Labor Relations Board, leaving workers open to intimidation or retaliation if their employers were to access that information.
