This year marks the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day in Korea, when the Korean masses liberated themselves from Japanese colonial rule. On this day, we remember the millions who struggled against incredible odds to forge their own destinies and resisted imperialism. This is a bittersweet day as while the Korean people freed themselves from the Japanese, Korea still remains divided and occupied by the US. That’s why Nodutdol launched the US Out of Korea campaign last year, to educate and mobilize the public to put a stop to US aggression against the Korean people. As organizers and activists here in the empire, we know that US imperialism in Korea does not serve the interests of Korean people, or the majority of Americans. We are building a movement to support working people everywhere in building political power to end the US’s forever wars, and create a system that truly serves the majority.
