January Educate Congress

	<thumbnail_url>https://actionnetwork.org//images/generic_facebook.jpg</thumbnail_url>

In December, PDA activists delivered letters to more than 300 House and Senate offices. Our national team followed up with faxes and phone calls. These letter drops and calls take little time, and have tremendous impact. We're gaining new cosponsors for legislation. Join the movement! Contact Conor for more information and to report back after your successful letter drop. Download this month's letters here: House | Senate | Listen to the Organizing Call In January , many of us gather with friends and family to celebrate the beginning of a new year. This month, we'll urge members of the House and Senate to join with People Demanding Action as we work to promote peace, reverse or halt unwise policies, and protect the climate as well as American jobs and families. Specifically to: (Senate and House) As concerned, informed Americans, we urge you to vote no on the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), and any other multinational corporate / commercial agreement that would export U.S. jobs and hurt our families, while elevating special interests to quasi-sovereign status. The full text of TTP is now public, revealing that most of the agreement has nothing to do with trade. Its investor dispute resolution provisions would empower unelected international commissions to undermine local, state, and federal safeguards that protect consumers, employees, and the environment. Stand up for your constituents. Vote against and speak out against the TPP and all special interest deals. Additionally, we're asking Senators to oppose "regime change" policies that would recklessly depose the Assad regime in Syria and leave another power vacuum in its place, further destabilizing the Middle East, and to cosponsor: The Inclusive Prosperity Act (S.1371) to help stabilize financial markets and create good American jobs. Sen. Bernie Sanders lead sponsor. The Rebuild America Act (S.268) to put 13 million Americans to work fixing our crumbling roads, tunnels, and bridges. Sen. Bernie Sanders lead sponsor. The American Clean Energy Investment Act (S.2391) to facilitate transition to clean, sustainable energy while creating new, good jobs. Sen. Bernie Sanders lead sponsor. Additionally, we're asking Representatives to cosponsor: H.R.4108, a bipartisan bill to end U.S. efforts to overthrow the Syrian Arab Republic led by President Bashar al-Assad. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard lead sponsor. The Inclusive Prosperity Act (H.R.1464) to help stabilize financial markets and create good American jobs. Rep. Keith Ellison lead sponsor. H.Res.540, expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that the policies of the United States should support a transition to near zero greenhouse gas emissions, 100 percent clean renewable energy, infrastructure modernization, green jobs, full employment, a sustainable economy, fair wages, affordable energy, expanding the middle class, and ending poverty to promote national economic competitiveness and national security and for the purpose of avoiding adverse impacts of a changing climate. Rep. Raul Grijalva lead sponsor. The Expanded & Improved Medicare For All (H.R.676) to replace the ACA with a more sustainable and comprehensive approach that would guarantee all Americans have access to high quality healthcare without any financial barriers. Rep. John Conyers, Jr. lead sponsor. The Humphrey-Hawkins 21st Century Full Employment and Training Act (H.R.1000) to guarantee a job or training to all Americans who want to work and/or prepare for employment. Rep. John Conyers, Jr. lead sponsor.
