We envision a world where everyone can afford housing and where all housing is safe to live in. That's a world where housing isn't about profit, it's about people. But getting there will require the people to demand it--- to fight for it! The Renters Rising Tenants Summit about: Building tenants' power through knowledge and organizing Fighting for housing affordability--- including rent stabilization Protecting OURSELVES by expanding tenants rights All are welcome to join this event-- renters, homeowners, people experiencing homelessness, and landlords. This is a family friendly event, children are welcome! Food will provided throughout the day. If you are interested in hosting a resource table, please let us know in the registration form. ============================ La Unión Autónoma de Inquilinos de la Ciudad de Wilmington y la campaña HOMES están organizando la Cumbre de Inquilinos “Renters Rising”, ¡la primera de su tipo! Imaginamos un mundo en el que todas las personas puedan costear una vivienda y en el que todas las viviendas sean seguras para vivir. Un mundo donde la vivienda no se trate de ganancias, sino de personas. Pero llegar ahí requerirá que el pueblo lo exija… ¡que luche por ello! La Cumbre de Inquilinos “Renters Rising” se enfocará en: • Construir el poder de las personas inquilinas a través del conocimiento y la organización • Luchar por la asequibilidad de la vivienda, incluyendo la estabilización de alquileres • Protegernos ampliando los derechos de las personas inquilinas Todas las personas son bienvenidas a este evento: inquilinas, propietarias, personas sin hogar y arrendadoras. ¡Es un evento familiar; se aceptan niñas y niños!
