August 2021 Antiwar Protest

	<thumbnail_url>https://actionnetwork.org//images/generic_facebook.jpg</thumbnail_url>

Congress is currently in the process of negotiating it's military budget--President Biden has asked for a whooping $753 billion! We will meet by the side of the road at the intersection of Harriet Ave and Burnsville Pkwy to show nonviolent opposition to ever increasing U.S. military interventions since 9/11, threats by the U.S. federal government regarding nuclear weapons, sanctions that harm civilian populations abroad, and runaway military spending. Signs will be provided or bring your own; you are especially encouraged to bring a sign that encourages cutting the military budget. Please follow Covid protocols regarding masks and physical distancing. Kids are welcome. Alternative plans: In the event of a covid lockdown or extreme heat, this event will be converted to a car parade, route TBD. In the event of thunderstorms, significant rain, or air pollution advisories, the in-person protest will be rescheduled for 6:00PM on Saturday August 7
