<thumbnail_url>https://can2-prod.s3.amazonaws.com/events/photos/001/199/511/normal/event_banner.jpg</thumbnail_url>

We're partnering up with an amazing neighborhood bike shop, BFF Bikes. Come join us as we ride down the West Side and jam up Damen. See you at BFF Bikes (2056 N Damen) on Wednesday, August 10th at 5:30pm. It's time for a #bikegridnow. All wheels welcome! A bit more about BFF Bikes: "BFF Bikes was founded by two women, Vanessa and Annie who recognized the need for a strong supportive and encouraging environment for female cyclists regardless of ability. BFF was created to encourage more women to join the cycling movement that our city, state and country is embracing. While remaining a women-focused bike shop, their reputation for being friendly and approachable contributed to its success. In the fall of 2020, Gillian took the helm as owner of BFF. Gillian has a passion for all things bike whether it be racing, touring, commuting, leisure, hauling groceries, dirt, road...you get the point. 'In addition to providing top notch repair service, it is our mission to make sure customers (whether 2 or 102) walk away with the right bike for them.' — Gillian Forsyth, Owner BFF strives to be the kindest and most approachable shop in Chicago. We really really love bikes, and we know you will too." To learn more about what jams are, why we jam, and how to support us please check out http://bikegridnow.org/ The number of pedestrians and cyclists being killed on our city streets is rising at a horrifying rate. Chicago needs safe streets for all. A bike grid is a huge leap in that direction, creating safer streets for cyclists, pedestrians, children, and motorists alike. We are actively lobbying our alders, CDOT, the mayor, and other local organizations but we need your help to make sure they hear us and see us. The City, the mayor, our alders, CDOT, and everyone else will have no choice but to hear us.
