But the stakes are too high to remain silent. When fundamental legal norms and democratic institutions are being tested, we have an obligation to step outside our usual roles and speak directly to the public. This rally comes at a critical moment, citing attacks on judges and court orders, targeting of lawyers and law firms, the weaponization of the Department of Justice, threats to civil rights as well as threats to free and fair elections. Speakers will address issues including attacks on the judiciary, First and Fourth Amendment concerns, targeting of legal professionals, abuse of executive power, and threats to voting rights and civil liberties. The rally is open to both lawyers and non-lawyers.
