Some topics we hope to cover include: What is capitalism? When and how did capitalism arise in practice and as an economic/political philosophy? What is socialism? When and why did socialism arise as a response to capitalism? How has capitalism evolved as an economic/political system in the US? How does capitalism affect us today, and how might it affect us in the near future? What might a socialist alternative look like? This event is open to the public and is meant to serve community members interested in learning more about socialism and DSA, along with both new and old MoCo DSA members looking for some essential introductory education. This event will be in-person only. Attendees will be invited to join us for dinner and drinks afterwards somewhere in the Wheaton neighborhood. https://actionnetwork.org/events/capitalism-vs-socialism-moco-dsa-political-education
