Community Defense Volunteer Training: Family Preparedness Team When: Tuesday, April 22, 2025 • 6:00 PM Where: Hybrid Training. Please register to receive the Zoom link or the in-person address. Please Note: Due to the sensitive nature of this training, an El Pueblo Unido team member will personally follow up with each registration to confirm participation. Our in-person training will be held at a trusted, private sanctuary space—not open to the public. ICE is not welcomed here. What: As part of our Legal Services Program, El Pueblo Unido will be training volunteers to support our Family Preparedness efforts through Power of Attorney Clinics. These clinics are designed to help immigrant families prepare for emergencies by legally naming someone they trust to care for children, handle finances, and manage critical responsibilities if they are detained or deported. Volunteers will be trained to assist families with data entry, document preparation, and the intake process. In this hands-on training, we’ll walk you step-by-step through our clinic model and Power of Attorney templates. On clinic days, you’ll be paired with a translator if needed and supported by El Pueblo Unido staff. All final documents will be reviewed by an attorney and notarized on-site.
