Auction of Horrible Things

Join No Coal No Gas for the “AUCTION OF HORRIBLE THINGS!” Did you know that last year, the Merrimack Generating Station won a contract for over $1.08 million a month in a lovely non-event called the Forward Capacity Auction that our grid operator likes to throw? 10-20% of your electric bill goes to payment contracts like these, won by fossil fuels at the auction block! Quite the horrible thing to bid on, and they don’t actually even have a dramatic auction block. They just press a little button safely inside their little headquarters and calculate their little (well, actually very large) numbers. Then two weeks later they say “Here’s who won the horrible auction! Horrible companies, surprise!” While we don’t have coal plant capacity to offer you at our AUCTION OF HORRIBLE THINGS (or AHT), we will have a fun night in store for you.
